Work Health Balance

Work Health Balance

Do you have a work health balance? How often do you go for check ups?

Do you wait until you are physically down before you head to the hospital to do a check up?

I understand that, due to our busy schedules, we may not have the time to visit the hospital for a check up but incorporating a healthy lifestyle into your organization is one way to avoid being taken unawares by the trolls of sickness when it comes without knocking.

One way to do that is by organizing health talks for members of the staff body, also carrying out free check ups for staff members in the organization.

Last week, there was a general health talk session where issues regarding work and a healthy life balance were discussed.

At the end of the talk, a free health check took place where Blood Pressure, Sugar level, Weight, Height, etc were checked.

As career persons, balancing work with personal life might be quite difficult and seemingly impossible. Having to work 9-5 everyday, getting home late due to traffic and having the time to spend time with your family might not come so easily.

According to a psychologist, Robert Brooks, he states that “A lot of people are having a more difficult time finding balance in their lives because there have been cutbacks or layoffs where they work. So they’re afraid it may happen to them, and they’re putting in more hours.”
But regardless of whether you don’t have much control over the hours you need to work, you can ask yourself: In what different ways am I bringing more prominent delight into my life? Brooks says. “Focus your time and consideration on things you can control”.
Here are 5 ways to bring more balance to your life:

Reduce Activities That Drain Your Energy

Many people waste their time on activities or individuals that add no value to their lives or productivity. For instance, investing excessive energy at work with a partner who is always venting or gossiping. It is important you write out the activities that don’t enhance your professional or individual life and reduce the time you spend on them. By doing this, you will be able to focus on the more important tasks and leave work earlier.

Plan Your Household Chores Rethink your errands.

Consider whether you can outsource any of your tedious household chores or errands. With the current development in technology, you could order your goods on the web and have them delivered to your home or office. Outsource your laundry and have it picked up at your home or office. Regardless of whether you’re on a tight spending plan, you will realize that the time you’ll save for your family, will make it worthwhile.

Learn To Say NO

You mustn’t accept every request or hangout from your boss or colleagues to be engaged over the weekend. Learn to say No to offers that will elongate your stay at work.

It is important that you take time off to relax when it seems like the work is becoming too challenging. To bring more balance to your work life, you may not need to make too big a change. Little changes like leaving the office an hour earlier in a week might go a long way in making you feel more relaxed.

There is no doubt that finding a balance between your personal life and work can be hard, yet it is conceivable. With some essential limits, you can find a sound life outside of your office doors.
