Job Purpose

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintenance of proper storage of all company stocks in the warehouse, effective receipts of stocks and dispatch to external/internal customers.

  • Ensure physical stock movement is posted in the system.
  • Ensure that the procedure for accepting incoming materials and its supplies for production are adhered to.

  • Participate in regular spot checks on stocked items on daily basis.
  • Ensure strict adherence to First In First Out (FIFO) principles.

  • Enforcement of compliance with BAT EHS/EMS guidelines in all warehouse activities
  • Provision of required information/data as required.

  • Ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of warehousing processes
  • Ability to operate across all hierarchy levels, providing information and support as required.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in an FMCG handling large number of SKUs preferably with a manufacturing organisation sufficient to demonstrate understanding of products..
  • Familiarity with SAP systems and understanding of internal information flows.

LAGOS State Government to employ 1000 graduates as Bus Conductors

Comrade Israel Ade Adeshola, the National President of the Bus Conductors Association of Nigeria, BCAN, in cooperation with the Lagos State ministry of transportation has confirmed that 1000 university graduates will be employed as bus conductors.

In an interview with Vanguard, Comrade Adeshola has further stated that under the leadership of Governor Akinwunmi Ambod, the Lagos State Government has initiated the development of a new image for the bus conducting profession.
Comrade Adeshola enthusiastically describes, “The Lagos state government is already in action, training and accrediting graduates through the Lagos State Drivers Institute (LASDRI), with plans of future employment”. He also notes that graduates are expected to gain salaries of N50, 000 per month.

“Our objective is to make bus conducting an attractive, respected and dignified occupation for future generations on a global scale”, he said. Adeshola also expects that the future will bring major transportation changes, as security & employment are becoming increasingly more important to the Government.

Furthermore, Adeshola notes that since the establishment of the association in 2008, there has been relentless work completed in association with Government officials through both the national assembly as well as the state government. For the future, Adeshola and the association intend to keep the positive relationships with Government intact in order to benefit citizens.
